Life of Hazrat Muhammad

Muhammad [n 1]  ( Arabic :  مُحَمَّد ‎,  pronounced  [muħammad] ; [n 2]  c. 570 CE – 8 June 632 CE) [1]  was an  Arab  religious, social, and political leader and the founder of  Islam . [2]  According to  Islamic doctrine , he was a  prophet , sent to preach and confirm the  monotheistic  teachings of  Adam ,  Abraham ,  Moses ,  Jesus , and other  prophets . [2] [3] [4] [5]  He is viewed as the  final prophet  of  God  in all the main  branches of Islam , though some modern denominations diverge from this belief. [n 3]  Muhammad united  Arabia  into a single Muslim  polity , with the  Quran  as well as his teachings and practices forming the basis of Islamic religious belief. Born approximately 570   CE ( Year of the Elephant ) in the Arabian city of  Mecca , Muhammad was orphaned at the age of six. [6]  He was r...

History of Pakistan

The  history of Pakistan  encompasses the region of the  Indus Valley [1] [2] [3] [4] , which spans the western expanse of the  Indian subcontinent  and the eastern  Iranian plateau . [5]  The region served both as the fertile ground of a major civilisation and as the gateway of South Asia to  Central Asia  and the  Near East . [6] [7] Situated on the first coastal migration route of  Homo sapiens  out of Africa, the region was inhabited early by modern humans. [8] [9]  The 9,000-year history of village life in South Asia traces back to the  Neolithic  (7000–4300  BCE ) site of  Mehrgarh  in Pakistan, [10] [11] [12]  and the 5,000-year history of urban life in South Asia to the various sites of the  Indus Valley Civilization , including  Mohenjo Daro  and  Harappa . [13] [14] The ensuing millennia saw the region of present-day Pakistan absorb many influences—represented amo...

Kashmir

The State of Kashmir has always been a bone of contention, an eye sore ever since India achieved its independence. The position at that time was that, all the States that comprised India, and had been independent, had three clear options, available to them. The three options were that, either they accede to India, or accede to Pakistan. The third option was that they could remain independent of both India and Pakistan.  While all the States did the needful the State of Kashmir took a unique turn, an eventful and an unprecedented turn. The then Prime Minister of India stated that, regarding the accession of the State of Kashmir the wishes of the people of the State would be taken into account, and not only the rules applicable to the other States. This condition gave the State of Kashmir a peculiar status which no other State had, to enjoy. This little declaration by the Prime Minister turned the tide of events for the State of Kashmir which, till today has not seen the li...

Murree the beautiful part of Pakistan

Murree is a real beauty of Pakistan which is also known as “Queen of Hills”. It looks like a fantasy which grabs the attention of a lot of tourists. Every summer a lot of people from different nations visit it to get rid of the scorching heat of the sun. I didn’t get a chance to visit it before but last summer when I went there, the whole experience of traveling and visiting beautiful places was memorable. Weather The weather of Murree is always pleasant and cool. Most of the people even get a chance to experience snow falling. There are beautiful shops, restaurants, cafés, and stalls all around. Moreover, you can hear the fusion of western and Pakistani music which makes the whole atmosphere even more attractive. When the light gets dim in the evening, it becomes harder to leave the place or get back to the hotels. Everyone tends to have a secret desire of staying in the hills forever. Mall Road The most important and popular part of the Murree is “Mall Road” which I also visited firs...

Poverty

Any discussion of social class and mobility would be incomplete without a discussion of  poverty , which is defined as the lack of the minimum food and shelter necessary for maintaining life. More specifically, this condition is known as  absolute poverty . Today it is estimated that more than 35 million Americans—approximately 14 percent of the population—live in poverty. Of course, like all other social science statistics, these are not without controversy. Other estimates of poverty in the United States range from 10 percent to 21 percent, depending on one's political leanings. This is why many sociologists prefer a  relative,  rather than an  absolute , definition of poverty. According to the definition of  relative poverty , the poor are those who lack what is needed by most Americans to live decently because they earn less than half of the nation's median income. By this standard, around 20 percent of Americans live in poverty, and this has been the c...

Sports and Games

Sports and games are essential for health. They play an important role in the lives of young men and women. Games help to channelize the energies of the youth in constructive channels. The aim of education is the overall development of the personality of man. It means the development of not only the mind but also the body. It is a common saying, "A sound body has a sound mind”. Sports and games enable people to remain healthy and fit. They inculcate among the people a sense of discipline. They create a spirit of healthy competition. They keep the body fit. The best way to keep the limbs fit is to exercise them in sports and games of physical skill and strength. It is good that our educational institutions encourage sports and games by organizing matches and awarding prizes and trophies. A number of schools, clubs and societies hold athletics contests. They include walking, jogging, jumping; swimming, rowing, boxing, wrestling. An athlete is trained to be fit to engage in such cont...
